Super Bordeaux region is located in France, the world-renowned wine production center. As part of the Seña's 25th anniversary celebration, Chilean iconic winery will re-release its globally acclaimed 2009 vintage. This limited-edition library release provides an opportunity for wine enthusiasts and collectors worldwide to be a part of Seña's inspiring journey and enjoy its elegant aging process. The wine showcases incredible evolution after more than a decade in cellar before its release.
Founded in 1995, Seña was the first signature wine from Chile. It is a remarkable collaboration between renowned winemaking icon Eduardo Chadwick and Robert Mondavi. Chile's lush landscape attracted Mondavi's curiosity during his research visit to the region in the early nineties. After meeting with Chadwick, they felt a connection in their shared values and decided to create Chile’s first signature wine as ambassadors of Aconcagua Valley: with Bordeaux style as a blueprint and soul of Chile.
Over four-fifths of a century since inception, Seña has achieved perfect scores like 100 points solidifying its position among South America or even global Masters' circle. The current release marks this pioneering creation at its quarter-century milestone – it is now time to toast another year! To commemorate this momentous occasion, we are offering our collectors the library-released version of SeñA - A rare treat!
In terms of viticulture, there were no major challenges during harvest season that started two weeks earlier than historical dates due to excellent weather conditions that included warm temperatures but not excessive heat waves ensuring healthy grape growth along with balanced sugar levels for optimal fermentation.
The result? An incredibly complex wine showcasing ten years' worth maturity after opening up beautifully on nose displaying layers of spicy aromas accompanied by subtle oak notes; chocolate; tobacco & cigar boxes followed by surprisingly fruity flavors reflecting ripe plum & cherry tastes when uncorked.
On palate it presents itself round yet showing dynamic acidity on surface while maintaining impressive density & length structured perfectly well-matured tannins giving off smooth mouthfeel invitingly rich indeed already ready for immediate enjoyment or five years down line either way you choose both ways you can't go wrong here... Cheers!
