These wines are produced at the solar-powered winery of Booker, without concentrates or other common operations. "I challenge our team and our planting friends," Jensen said, " 'Why can't we do it correctly, maintaining complete integrity in the vineyard and no concentrates in the cellar? Why can't we produce wines that compete with those twice the price?' My Favourite Neighbor is about creating world-class wines without shortcuts or compromise."
The 2020 My Favourite Neighbor Cabernet Sauvignon (St. Luis Obispo County) offers flavors of mature cherry and plum, with a finish that elevates blackberry and quince notes by tobacco nuances. The extended mineral aftertaste complements its robust structure and rich tannins. It is composed of Cabernet Sauvignon (86%), Syrah (4%), Petite Sirah (4%), Malbec (4%) and Viognier (2%). Aged for 20 months in 65% new French oak barrels.
The 2021 MFN Blanc(Saint Luis Obispo County) bursts from the glass with Meyer lemon, green apple, Asian pear aromas, accompanied by a hint of pineapple flavor; its palate offers fresh ocean saltiness along with luscious acidity and an extended mineral aftertaste. Made from 100% Grenache Grapes aged for eight months in 50% new French oak barrels.
