今年，或许因为开始反思过去错误，罗伯特·帕克决定重新发现并探索意大利葡萄酒之美与价值。他与WineNews记者Monica Larner共同举办首届“The Wine Advocate”大师班，在托斯卡纳深入研究意大利之美。他曾说1985年的Sassicaia是一款最为他个人欣赏的一款，它使得Italy接近到了可以与France平起平坐的地位。

“Italy and France are both historical countries in the world of wine,” Robert Parker said. “Both countries produce wines that have been, will continue to be industry benchmarks, especially for those 'new world' winemakers.”

He added: "In terms of European scope, Italy is the country with the most indigenous grape varieties. It's a treasure trove of wine in the world. Diversity and complexity are the advantages and charms of Italian wines. They deserve respect and protection."

For Parker, red wine brings him greatest joy - diversity. He exclaimed: "One of the most beautiful things in my career has been to see indigenous grape varieties flourishing continuously, especially in Italy - this land where local grape varieties bloom like flowers."
